The Women’s ministry welcomes all women to participate in an active and loving fellowship.   The Wednesday night women’s class is a wonderful place for women to connect with each other, pray for each other and study the Bible together in a relaxed and informal circle of friends.  This class meets Wednesday nights from 7:00 to 8:00 pm.  Occasionally, the women’s class combines with the men’s class for a particular study.  Thursday morning ladies’ class meets from 10:15 to 11:30 am for a time of study, prayer and fellowship.  Once a month this class has a pot-luck or catered lunch at the building to celebrate those having birthdays that month.  They also make cards that are sent for encouragement.

At Northwest, every woman is encouraged to put her talents to use in the Lord’s service.  An e-mail network, overseen by one of our faithful women’s ministry leaders, connects all women of Northwest who choose to be a part.  Through this network, women are alerted to emergency prayer requests, special needs of members and upcoming events.  The women’s ministry takes an active role in caring for church members through sending cards, making visits, giving bridal and baby showers, and serving at funeral receptions.  In the past, special projects have included teas for the teen girls, an accessory swap, bringing in speakers for ladies’ days at Northwest, collecting coats and blankets for the homeless, collecting gifts for “sunshine baskets” for members who are seriously ill, attending ladies’ days at other congregations together, walking the “Jingle Bell Run” together in December, and making “12 Days of Christmas” gift bags for shut-ins.  On an on-going basis, the women make soup together in the church kitchen.  The soup is frozen and given as needed to the sick or new moms – anyone in need of a nourishing and quick meal.  These activities foster a spirit of love and friendship as we work together for the Kingdom and all women are invited to participate.
