God’s Glory and Strength
In a world with so much turmoil and unrest we can turn to fear and doubt about our lives. When this happens we can lose our focus on our heavenly Father.
God is there for us and will give us strength to endure. Remember the walls of
Jericho? They wrapped around the city like a suit of armor. Here is what we need to take to heart about Jericho and its inhabitants. They were ferocious and barbaric. They had withstood all sieges and repelled all invaders. When Joshua showed up things changed. The mighty Jericho crumbled and all was destroyed. But, here is what we need to really take to heart. He didn’t bring the walls down. The shaking, quaking, of the thick, impervious walls were not Joshua’s doing. God did that for him because he had faith in God. Joshua trusted our almighty God. God will do the same for us! Our Jericho may be fear, anger, bitterness, or guilt about the past. These things can stand between us and our glory days which God has for us all.
The walls, whatever we have constructed, must fall. Life will always bring challenges but God will give us strength to face them all. We need to remember that God is always with us. We just need to let him in through our faith and heart of humility. Let’s also be there for one another as God has commanded.
