Encouragement from the Elders

How wonderful to know we are special in the sight of God. We have been wonderfully made, Psalms 139:14 and "in the image of our God” (Gen. 1: 27). The New Year is soon to be upon us and we will look back and maybe wonder if we accomplished very much.

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.  – Psalm 139:14

So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. - Genesis 1:27

The fact that we are able to reflect is a blessing from our loving God. Think about the gift of choice he gives us, to start the day with his forgiveness of our past, if we sincerely confess our shortcomings, 1 John 1:9 or more importantly, Acts 2:38 and ask him for the strength through Christ to do better, Phil.4: 13. So we can be encouraged because we know that though we struggle with love, our God is Love (1 John 4:16). Thank God for Jesus, and his love of the Father that gives us the ability to become heirs with him (Eph 3:6).

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.  – I John 1:9

Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. – Acts 2:38

I can do all this through him who gives me strength. – Philippians 4:13

And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. – I John 4:16

This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, and sharers together in the promise in Christ    Jesus. – Ephesians 3:6

We are to encourage one another, so I encourage you! Phil.2: 1-11.

“Now to him who is able to do more than “all“ we ask or “imagine", according to his “power” that is at work "within" us, to him be glory in the “Church" and in Christ  Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen!
